Tesla may be entering the Indian market very soon as they just registered an office in the city of Bengaluru. However, entering the Indian automobile market is not a simple task by any means as it poses several significant challenges. For starters, India's electric charging network is just in its infancy and there are a couple of major indigenous manufactures looking to control this market. Aside from this, it's not clear how well Tesla's autonomous features will fare on Indian roads not to mention India's aversion from self-driving technology. But most importantly, Tesla's aren't cheap, and combined with India's high taxes on imported cars, it's not clear how much demand there will really be. This video goes through the most significant challenges Tesla faces when entering the Indian market and why Tesla is really expanding to India.
