Katrin Dinges is blind and almost deaf. But she‘s determined to live as independently as she can.
Many deaf and blind people live in homes or stay with their parents for their entire adult lives. But rather than depend on others for help, Katrin Dinges is determined to take control of her own life. Now aged thirty, she’s earning a university degree, giving public readings and doing sports. And she’s looking into acquiring a smartphone. What most take for granted as standard equipment is a real challenge for a blind-deaf woman. We accompany Kathrin Dinges to the university, shopping and reading to an elementary-school class. Can she take another step toward her goal of leading a more independent life?
