摘要
Back in 2015, Nicholas Reeves, a British Egyptologist at the University of Arizona analysed laser scans of the tomb of Tutankhamen and claimed to have spotted a secret room hidden behind the north wall. Infrared thermography scans appeared to back up his theory, as well as ground penetrating radar conducted by specialist Hirokatsu Watanabe. A second entranceway was then discovered in the western wall and Mamdouh Eldamaty, Egypt’s former minister of antiquity welcomed the results. The discovery seemed all but certain.
But the hypothesis had doubters, including the National Geographical Society who failed to replicate similar Ground Penetrating Radar results the following year. On the back of this, the new Antiquities minister Khaled El-Enany said that no invasive exploration would take place inside the tomb until scientists were certain and in universal agreement.
So, a third set of tests were conducted in 2017 and the results have just been released… Watch the video to find out all we know.
